In the hope that fuel costs would quickly stabilize and return to “normal”, we held off on raising the aircraft rental rates as long as we possibly could. Starting today, June 15, 2022 we are joining 85% of the flight schools in the nation and we will be instituting fuel surcharges. Fuel surcharges as opposed to direct rental rate increases give us the flexibility of adjusting more quickly in response to the very dynamic fuel price fluctuations we are experiencing now. Our ultimate goal is to eliminate the fuel surcharges and adjust rental rates appropriately for the price of fuel when and if it stabilizes.
The fuel surcharges beginning June 15, 2022 are:
2 Seat Aircraft $10/hr
172s, PA-28s, DA-40s $15/hr
182s, , PA-24, PA-32 $17/hr
Multi-engine aircraft $20/hr
These surcharges will be adjusted in response to fuel price changes.
As of October 1, 2022, we are cutting those surcharges in half! The cost of fuel has come down considerably and we will continue to adjust the fuel surcharges when able. Beginning October 1, 2022 the fuel surcharges are:
2 Seat Aircraft $5/hr
172s, PA-28s, DA-40s $8/hr
182s, PA-24, PA-32 $9
Multi-engine aircraft $10/hr
As of April 1, 2023, we are removing fuel surcharges.
