N437SP has just been upgraded again! A fantastic eye catching G3 touch display has taken over the old six pack. No more vacuum gauges, but even an all electrical G5 back up indicator. You just will have to experience this combination of avionics yourself. There is just too much to explain. Earlier this year we installed WAAS enabled Garmin GTN650 touch screen color moving map GPS NAV/COM which does a lot more than providing navigation guidance. It can display traffic, weather, fuel awareness tools, and all this with an easy to get used to and very intuitive Garmin logic. It will help you get the best out of your instrument training. As a very well equipped VFR trainer, it will do a great job during cross countries, IFR or VFR. The terrain feature will give you great situational awareness when the visibility is lower than expected, while flying in the mountains or at night. To be able to create some bandwidth in the brain, the panel also includes a KX 155 flip/flop nav/comm, and a king autopilot.
The 1999 C172S is a great aircraft for VFR and IFR flying. With the 180 horsepower engine, long range tanks and room for four, this plane is an excellent choice for any cross-country flight. An ice cream cone in Ocean City or a slice of pizza at Time Square in Manhattan are all within reach without a reason to drive there. If you have flown the previously upgraded N144ME, you will feel right at home, having very similar avionics.
