Hudson River Fly-Out

Hudson River Fly-Out

We've had a great year of flying and a number of us have celebrated some fantastic aviation accomplishments.  That means it's time to celebrate and close the year out with the Annual Hudson River Fly-Out on Tuesday, December 26th.  The Hudson Corridor will amaze you--it's a trip you don't want to miss!

Last year we had about 30 airplanes participate.  Just as the lead aircraft circled the Statue of Liberty prior to exiting the corridor, our trail aircraft entered.  That means we had 30 Aviation Adventures pilots & passengers over the Hudson at one time.  The weather was perfect and plenty of controllers got to know about "SkyVentures"!

The Plan: We will meet up at Monmouth Executive (KBLM) at 10am on December 26th.  There will be a briefing at 10:30am and we plan on departing together from KBLM at 11:30am to fly up and down the Hudson River corridor.  If you anticipate getting fuel, please begin fueling promptly at KBLM to ensure an on-time departure.  During our briefing, we will discuss key points of the trip, as well as specific operational considerations for our group flying in sequence.

The Plane: There are plenty! Reserve one of Aviaiton Adventures' many aircraft available or fly your own.

The Pilot:  Visit the sign-up sheet to sign yourself up.  Take a look below to understand what is required in order to be PIC for the trip.  This trip is a great time to split some cross country time with a fellow pilot or work on a long cross-country.  Reach out to your instructor or fellow pilots to see who wants to go!  If you are a pilot with an airplane (yours or rented), please fill out your info on the sign-up sheet.

The Passengers:  This is an awesome opportunity to bring friends & family that may be visiting around the holidays.  If you just want to be a passenger and are looking for an avilable seat, reach out to one of the pilots on the sheet.  Alternatively, fill out your info on the "Looking for Seats" tab to indicate you'd like others to attempt to contact you.

PIC Requirements:

1) You are required to take the NY SFRA course prior to entering the corridor.  Please bring the completion certificate with you on the flight.

2) You must have a current NY Terminal Area Chart (TAC) with you.  If you use ForeFlight or another EFB, please ensure you have the current NY TAC downloaded to your device before the trip.
